This is an awesome open mic, great practice for being on a real stage with a professional sound arrangement, and is one of the busier open mics in New York. People are supportive, but not as supportive as the very intimate open mics such as Lucky Jacks or Café Vivaldi, where it is held in a small very crowded space. Drinks are somewhat pricy, but come for sign up at SIX THIRTY 6:30 pm, and get happy hour drinks til 7. Show starts at 7.

This open mic had a FULL list when I got there @ 7pm! From what I saw it's ALL comics! I was the ONLY one sitting at the bar with a guitar.

One of my least favorite open mics that I've tried. It's true that you'll find people in there that aren't performing, but the mere size of the place distance between you and the people sitting at the bar and the people at the back of the room (which is where most were) lead to a real lack of intimacy. There was really bad service when I was there too, the bartenders were really drunk. Also it's 1 song only and only goes for 1 hour. The sound guy is cool though. Sign-up was at 7:30.

Just tried out this open mic tonight. It was pretty good… believe it or not -- nonperformers ACTUALLY walked in OFF THE STREET and watched. Whaaat?? This is because the stage faces a giant opening right to the sidewalk. Great crowd!
