Hi, I'm Jaron, and one of the host of this open mic event. my apologies to the above critic for his experience. First of all, this is a bonafide open mic venue, and not "just a way for us to recruit new church members." Every artist is allowed at least 10 minutes to perform; I'm wondering if 'open mic critique' did not misunderstand what was said.

by the way 'open mic critique', I do remember you, and I wondered why you left. I just wish I had been aware of what was going on and I could have shed some light if someone gave you wrong info.

Ok, I think (and this is only my opinion and after all this is a church) this is just a way for them to recruit new church members in the form of a (quote) "open mic" I was there and when I asked If I could sign up for the open mic they seem to be some what puzzeled/surprise but after waitin about 5 to 10 minutes some one came out with a piece of paper and I was asked what I was going to do and I said I play guitar and sing and they said ok, you'll have 2 minutes cause everybody gets 2 minutes and my response was "2 minutes!? you can't do a whole song in two minutes so they decided to be more generous so they said ok, we'll give you 3 minutes. So to make an already long story short, I thought this was the equivalent of a joke so I left. You decide.
