Paddy Reilly's would like to announce "Open Mic Idol". $500 in cash prizes as well as bar tabs and gig opportunities at Paddy's. Competition starts next Wednesday 22nd at 7pm and Saturday 25th at 6pm. Stop in or book your place over the phone - 212 686 1210

Ten finalists well be selected from the Saturday and Wednesday groups for inclusion in the final with the top five getting prizes. The propbability is that acts from this week and next will move on automatically with eliminations beginning with week 3

The first time I showed up, the host and bartender were very friendly. Found the place to be very supportive. This has continued every time I have played there. It is nice that you get to usually play 3 songs. There is a built in bar crowd most nights, so free audience is nice. They recently moved things around so that the bar can fully see the stage. It makes a great double, what with Arctica Bar having their open mic at 10pm 2-3 blocks away.
