Positives: Great host, fun, relaxed, lovely yard, good food and libations, good people in audience, nice stage, good music.

Negatives: Street noise, train noise, doesn't go long enough due to the city's outdoor sound ordinance so the list is short and you have to get there early.

The positives far outweigh the negatives. I love this open-mike.

A decent place to play… Anna Bee, the host, is sweet & funny as well as a good musician in her own right. Very loose & easy, so some performers take advantage & think it's all about THEM. The sound is so-so, the stage is a level of the deck out front. The sitting area out front is right off South Lamar, surrounded by a stone wall… but traffic (sirens & horns) as well as the occasional train distract & drown you out. It's a good venue with good people… fun to play, & Opa's is a GREAT coffee house.
