?

I play solo instrumental banjo and also play banjo with a quartet also including female and male vocals, acoustic guitar and electric bass. I am interested in the open mic as both solo and ensemble.

What is the protocol in signing up to be assured to play that evening? Should I (or we) sign up before arrival or just arrive around 8:00 pm? Thank you.

What a nice group of talented and supportive people! The host started off with a beautiful performance welcoming the crowd of about 35. I wish I'd gotten more names to go with all the pictures because many those I missed were really good.

Russ Edwards and Jim Sharp did some very nice originals.

Some young talent showing real promise included Kira singing with her skilled keyboard work. Her voice was seriously soulful. Brigette and Lisa had a soft easy natural delivery that had unmistakeable charm.

Scott and Friends Wow! what a dynamite group. Scott moves with the feeling and it rocks, the fiddle player and lead guitar were sensational, Dave Bennet on Bass was very cool, and the drummer pulled the whole thing together.

Jim West shared his considerable songwriting skills to the delight of the audience.

I came down from New Hope and it was definitely worth the effort. If you come, there is no amplification, so be sure to practice unamplified. The audience is respectful and listens. Great entertainment whether you are playing of just listening.

? I play electric guitar through a Fender G-dec - a small amp with bass and drum loops. Would this be out of place at these open mic sessions? Also is sign up at 9pm or before? Thanks
