i been to this open mic 3 times and have only played once. the list is decided by a number lottery… not 1st come 1st serve… so the last two times i went early and ended up 2nd to last on the list… seriously… the talent is not good enough to sit around all night… so… if you play last you play for an empty room. i do not suggest this at all.

Two mikes and a basic PA. No monitors. Plug instruments into the PA. Piano available on stage. Stage can easily accommodate 4 or more musicians. Playing order governed by draw of lots (at 8 pm), which is when music starts (not 7:30 as stated in the listing). Play 15 minute sets (3 to 4 songs). Host controls the mix (and could give it more attention--guitars were generally too hot). A lot of acoustic guitar (including instrumentals). Some original songs, some covers, mostly contemporary vintage. Four standup comics last night. Perform sitting (chairs--didn't see a stool) or standing. Audience was 30+ (number), almost all under 35 (age). Nice applause for every act. Nice room--could easily hold 50+. $2 beer.

Crowds vary, but there are usually 20-30 folks in the audience to hear this easy-going open mic in a relaxed, cabaret-style atmosphere.
