I took a trip out here, being that I live in Astoria, but it was worth it. The audience is a listening room audience, and they listen intently to every word you say. The staff at the place are really genuine, and you can tell they are good people. All acts are welcome.
Also, the Staten island ferry trip to ETG cafe was absolutely breathtaking, and it's free.

Are christian acts welcome
lisa (7/2008)- I would have to say that of all the open mikes I have attended in New York, this ranks as number one… very attentive audience, well attended, great coffee house/bookstore with friendly staff.
Anonymous (8/2007)- Just went there for the first time… one of the best open mikes out there. Time transport yourself to 1960s San Francisco coffee house scene… gracious hosts and attentive audience. Really recommend this one.
josh (1/2007)- All Acts Welcome. Expect a crowd of people that are interested in seeing your 7 minute performance. This open mike has a supportive audience uncommon in New York City.
