Cork Pine Open Mic is a first-rate talent showcase for artists who don't want to drive to the big city or who want to get out of the concrete jungle for an evening of live entertainment. Located in Vassar, Michigan, we are just 20 minutes from Flint and Saginaw, making us a short drive to try out your new material and reach a new audience. Sets range in time from 20 to 30 minutes depending on attendance, all styles of music are welcome although please be aware that our venue size does not accommodate drum sets. Cajon boxes are encouraged, welcomed and usually hugged coming in the front door! Crowd typically ranges from 20-40 patrons, mostly bar-goers once the dinner crowd thins out. We have enjoyed hosting singer/songwriters, poets, stand-ups and even a dubstep beat boxer! We do have a no-cursing policy before 10 p.m. -- later in the evening, anything goes!
