This open mic is every week but Sharis alternates. Go to www.sharismusic.com and check the gigs link to see when she's there. Lately she has been alternating with Norm Taylor who is a hell of a nice guy in addition to being a great performer. Originals as well as covers are fine. There are plenty of musicians around that you can jam with if you want. Jamie at the bar is cool too. This is primarily a music open mic but people have done spoken word, poetry and comedy from time to time.

Bridgetown Pub is an awesome place to go and jam out to music. The bartenders are awesome, the music's always different. I was there this past Tuesday for open mike and they've been messing around with create your own egg rolls. Stuff them with whatever you want, try the pulled pork and cheddar ones!

Ok, so it's taken me a little while to comment, but I went to this place back in December. I live in California and was just visiting family in NJ and found this place thru openmikes.org. I ended up staying til almost closing time and it was a very nice night indeed. They have a decent sound system and eveyone who played sounded good. All of the other musicians were pretty good and some were very good. Sharis is a great host and made me feel quite welcome. She's also a very good musician and singer herself. The crowd was attentive and didn't talk over you while you played, or at least not that you can hear. Even the girl tending bar was very nice and welcoming. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in NJ.
